Full Professor of the Clinical Emergencies Department at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo – FMUSP, Specialist in Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, and Intensive Medicine. She is currently the Coordinator of the Medical Residency Program in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo – FMUSP, Director of Cardio-Oncology at the Heart Institute of HCFMUSP, Coordinator of Cardio-Oncology at the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo – ICESP, Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Cardiology at FMUSP, Coordinator of Cardiology at Hospital Vila Nova Star, Coordinator of the Cardiological and Surgical ICUs at Hospital DF Star, and Representative for Central and Latin America at the European Society of Intensive Medicine (2023-2025).
PhD in Medicine from the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (FMUSP). Board-certified cardiologist and intensivist. Serves as a cardiologist at the Heart Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas, FMUSP (InCor-HCFMUSP), and is a member of the Heart Transplantation and Artificial Heart teams at Hospital Sírio-Libanês and Hospital Vila Nova Star.
Prof. Daniel De Backer is an internationally recognized authority in intensive care, specializing in hemodynamics, microcirculation, and septic shock. He is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at Université Libre de Bruxelles and leads the Intensive Care Department at CHIREC Hospitals Brussels. His pioneering research has profoundly shaped critical care medicine, particularly in optimizing patient management in sepsis and circulatory failure.
